Adi Thumilan, a seventh grade student, will compete in the Capital Region Spelling Bee today, Monday, March 28. He was the winner of our school spelling bee winner this past December and has continued to advance through multiple local spelling competitions.
Prior to the regional spelling bee, students had to complete the Capital Region Spelling Bee qualifier test, and only the students within the top 20 scores would advance to tonight’s bee. Adi was among these top scorers and will compete against the other top performing students from the region.
The winner of today’s Capital Region Spelling Bee will represent the region and advance to the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee in greater Washington, D.C. in June. Read more about the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
