Good afternoon Menands families,
The sun is shining on this beautiful Friday here at Menands School! Before you start your weekend, we have a few updates and upcoming events we would like to make you aware of.
Last Friday, the Menands PTA hosted Family Fun Night here at Menands School. Students and their families painted rocks to add to the Kindness Rock Garden while enjoying cotton candy, pizza and more. Take a look at how much fun was had! Currently, the PTA is seeking donations of gently used or new sneakers to raise money for the PTA. Also, they are looking for volunteers to fill the positions of PTA President and Treasurer. More information is available on their Facebook.
Our annual A-Z Days end of the school year countdown starts next Monday, May 16. The calendar of themed days is available for viewing and download on our website. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for photos of the various activities and celebrations! Also next week is our annual school budget and Board of Education vote on Tuesday, May 17. Information on the candidates, polling hours and more can be found on our website. Our Evening of the Arts will return in-person on Tuesday evening starting at 6 p.m.
This upcoming weekend is the last chance to purchase a Menands School yearbook for this year. There are 25 copies left, so interested families should place their orders. Sales will end on Sunday, May 15.
We are currently seeking community presenters from various industries and trades for our Career Fair on June 8. This goal of this event introduces students to career paths and employment opportunities. If you or someone you know is interested in speaking with our students, please contact Cheri Vandenberg.
Lastly, we would like to remind you all of our most up-to-date COVID-19 mitigation protocols, as we have noticed an increase in COVID-19 cases. Symptomatic students should refrain from coming to school unless they test negative. More detailed information can be found on our COVID-19 scenarios flowchart.
We hope you have a great weekend. If you are planning on spending some time enjoying the Spring weather, stop by our StoryWalk® on the Sage Estates Trail!
