Life is a lot like a yo-yo and during a Nov. 5 presentation, students at the Menands School were taught how to keep a positive attitude during the ups and downs of everyday life.
Noah, a representative of NED’s Mindset Mission, combined yo-yo expertise with illusion and a little bit of humor to preach his positive message of having a growth mindset during an assembly for students in grades Pre-K through 4.
NED’s Mindset Mission is designed to “activate the imagination of young students while using humor, yo-yo and magic tricks, puppetry and storytelling to share a message about the power of a positive mindset.”
The presenter ultimately encouraged students to adopt the NED mindset – “Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best!”
Students enjoyed the assembly.
“I learned to never give up,” seven-year-old Fiona proclaimed in front of classmates and peers.
Principal Kathleen Wylie said the presentation was one of several this year that “brings character education to life in a way that is relatable and fun for students.”
