Sixteen students from grades 4-8 will compete on Dec. 11 in Menand’s annual spelling bee.
The students won their individual classroom contests to advance to the school-wide event. The winner of the school competition will advance to the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee, Menands English Language Arts teacher Caroline Purdy said.
Purdy said parents can attend the Wednesday competition, which begins at 3:15 p.m. in the school library. Anyone interested should check their emails for previous communication from Purdy.
