6. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the minutes of the December 13, 2021 meeting.

7. COMMUNICATION TO THE BOARD OF EDUCATION
- Communication from the Menands School Yearbook Club
- Communication from Mr. Masline
The board will collect money from members for the yearbook donation.
Mr. Masline read his letter to the board.
8. DISCUSSION ITEMS
- COVID Information and updates: Dr. Long informed the board about updated COVID recommendations. She also thanked everyone for their patience during these times.
- BOE vacancy: Dr. Long informed the board of the different avenues that are possible to fill the vacant seat on the board and asked for their input regarding how to move forward.

A. Budget Transfer – December 2021
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the attached budget transfers for December 2021.
B. Treasurer’s Report
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the Treasurer’s Report for the month ending December 31, 2021.
C. 2022-2023 Budget Calendar
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, hereby approves the attached 2022-2023 Budget Calendar for the purpose of developing the school budget.
D. Establishment of non-resident tuition rates for reimbursement
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District establish the following estimated non resident tuition rates for the 2021-2022 school year.
K-6 Regular Ed. – $11,614.00
- Gr. 7-8 Regular Ed. – $13,902.00
- Gr. K-6 Special Ed. – $67,415.00
- Gr. 7-8 Special Ed. – $69,703.00
E. Donation
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accepts the following donations as listed.
- CSARCH-30 winter coats for students
- Simmons- Holiday/Christmas donation of various items for families in need.
- Star and Strand- Holiday/Christmas donation of various items for families in need.
F. Board Member Term Length
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District hereby authorizes the following proposition to be placed on the ballot at the Annual Budget Vote and Election on May 17, 2022, and for said proposition to be included in the Annual Notice of said Vote and Election:
PROPOSITION
Commencing July 1, 2023, shall the full term of office of board members be decreased from five years to four years, provided however that this proposition shall not decrease the term of office of any incumbent board member (i.e., a board member who currently holds a term of office and whose term does not expire as of June 30, 2023)?
G. Contracts For Approval
East Greenbush School District – Special Education Contract
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the special education contract between the Menands Union Free School District and East Greenbush School District for the 2021-2022 school year as per the attached agreement.

I. Appointments
A. Long Term Substitute- Christian Rosario-Marrero
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve Christian Rosario-Marrero to a long-term substitute teacher position commencing on or about February 1, 2022 through on or about May 15, 2022. Remuneration will be at the per diem rate of $180.
B. Building Substitute Teacher – Erica Foley
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve Erica Foley as a building substitute teacher for the 2021-2022 school year effective January 11, 2022 at the per Diem rate of $110.
C. Substitute Custodian- Justin Jones
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve Justin Jones as a Substitute Custodian for the 2021-2022 School year. Remuneration as per the approved salary schedule.
D. Substitute Teachers – Fully Cleared
BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the following substitute teachers for the 2021-2022 school year.

14. SUPERINTENDENT’S COMMENTS
- Committee Updates-Dr. Long updated the board in regards to the progress that has been made so far this year.
- Concert Update- The district is working on a plan to safely present the concert.
- Long Range Financial Plan Update Next Meeting- Dr. Long said that B.P Donegan will be at the February meeting.
- Dr. Long presented Mr. Masline with a token of appreciation from the school district for all of his time that he has dedicated to the Menands Union Free School district throughout his term on the Board of Education.

16. MISCELLANEOUS
Mr. Nevins thanked Mr. Masline for all that he has done for the district over the years.
