Agreement Between the Board of Education of the Menands School District and The Menands Association of Teachers’
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District ratify the collective bargaining agreement by and between the Menands Union Free School District and the Menands Teachers’ Association, commencing on July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2023.
Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR)
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the provisions of the revised APPR which was developed in coordination with the Menands Association of Teachers and pursuant to the requirements of Education Law 3012-d and the regulations of the state education department.

Donation of Various School Supplies for the 2020-2021 School Year
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the following donation of various school supplies:
Mrs. Christine Clark- miscellaneous school supplies.
Fidelis- 100 reusable water bottles.
School Systems Federal Credit Union- 8 Bookbags with school supplies and 300 water bottles.
CapCom- 84 Bookbags with school supplies along with face masks and hand sanitizers.
Mr. Nevins- 300 face masks
Trustee to Schoharie Area Workers’ Comp. Trust – Kathleen Cietek, Dr. Maureen Long (Alternate)
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District upon the recommendation of the Superintendent appoint Kathleen Cietek and Dr. Maureen Long (Alternate) to serve as Trustee to the Schoharie Area Workers’ Comp.Trust for the 2020-2021 school year.
Contracts for Approval
Special Education Support Program – The Research Foundation for the State of New York (SUNY RF)
Enclosed for review and approval of the Board is a contract from The Research Foundation for the State of New York (SUNY RF) for the Special Education Internship Program for the 2020-2021 school year in the amount of $11,500.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the contract from The Research Foundation for the State of New York (SUNY RF) for the Special Education Internship Program for the 2020-2021 school year in the amount of $11,500.

Christina Amato- Food Service Worker
Enclosed for the Board is a letter from Christina Amato, dated October 5, 2020 resigning from her position as a Food Service Worker from the Menands Union Free School District effective October 15, 2020.
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District accept the letter of resignation from Christina Amato, resigning from her position as a Food Service Worker from the Menands Union Free School District effective October 15, 2020.

Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District approve the termination of employee #1036 from the Menands Union Free School District effective September 25, 2020.
Appointments
1 FTE Probationary Special Education Teacher – Caitlin Devine
Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District does hereby appoint Caitlin Devine to a 4-year probationary appointment in the Special Education tenure area on MS Step 3 of the current Menands Association of Teachers’ Salary Schedule. Ms.Devine holds a NYS teaching certificate in Special Education Birth – 2nd grade, Early Childhood Education, Birth – 2nd grade, Literacy, Birth – 6th Grade, Childhood Special Education Grade 1-6. Ms. Devine’s probationary period will begin on October 13, 2020 and will end on or about October 12, 2024. A copy of Ms. Devine’s resume has been included for the Board.
Tenure Recommendation – Shirah Bettinger-Physical Education Teacher
It is the Superintendent’s recommendation that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District grant tenure to Shirah Bettinger in the Physical Education tenure area effective October 2, 2020.

Tenure Recommendation – Lauren Hayes-Music Teacher
It is the Superintendent’s recommendation that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District grant tenure to Lauren Hayes in the Music tenure area effective October 1, 2020.

Resolution BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Menands Union Free School District appoint Marie Ostoyich as a Long Term Substitute Nurse for the 2020-2021 school year at the per diem rate of $180.

Increase Existing Compensation Time
Increase the compensation time from the existing 40 hours per year to “Not to exceed” 250 hours per year for the Maintenance Mechanic and Custodial positions.
