Students open a new chapter on charity

a student reads with a coat draped over her shouldersMenands students logged thousands of minutes of reading recently while raising hundreds of dollars for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Throughout November, students in grades kindergarten through eight at Menands read books and, in the process, raised funds for the charity through pledges and donations.

A total of $800 was raised for the charity with 6th grade student Tyler Rodriguez leading the reading charge, logging well-over 1,000 minutes.

Other students logging more than 1,000 minutes of reading during the month included: Nora Lemyre, Chloe Louiseau Nycklass, Evelyn Jaskula, Maria Aduloju, Manvitha Pateela, Astrid McNamara, Maria Aduloju, Isabella Rivera and William Vorobjev.
