Accredited author, journalist and animal rights activist, John Gray, is coming for an author’s visit next Thursday, May 26. He will be meeting with students kindergarten through fourth grade, showcasing his books “Sweet Polly Petals” and “God Needed a Puppy.”
Gray is known for his dedication to helping animals. In honor of Gray’s visit, we will be holding a schoolwide pet food drive. All donations will go directly to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society here in Menands. Our donation box will be located in the front foyer, where families can donate cat and/or dog food clean linens and blankets, animal toys, cat litter, dog leashes and harnesses and cat beds to name a few. For a complete list of items, please visit the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society’s website.
Additionally, Gray’s titles will be installed on our Menands StoryWalk® which is a collaborative effort by the Menands Union Free School District, the Village of Menands and the Menands Public Library. The two aforementioned book titles will be featured on the purple trail on the Sage Estates Trail. This month’s installation was sponsored by Superintendent Dr. Long.
If you would like to purchase one of John Gray’s books, you may do so online.
