Our First Day of School

Tuesday, September 8, was a wonderful day at Menands School.  The Menands Association of Teachers sponsored the annual Welcome Back Breakfast, and we had an assembly entitled The Show of Love.  Despite the heat, there were lots of smiling faces all throughout the day.  Please view our photos and see what it was like! A Vision for Menands School: Menands Legacy Planning Web Page

The Board of Education in collaboration with representatives from the entire Menands School Community continues their work of developing a vision of our school for the future. This vision will guide decisions relative to our building and facilities and a potential building improvement project.   Any project or improvements should be rooted in that vision - what we want for the children of our community, and not simply about bricks and mortar.  With the expertise, and under the guidance of Robert Hendriks, of Educational Legacy Planning, faculty, staff and members of the greater Menands community have been involved in the conversation.  This work has been captured on our own Menands Legacy Plan web site which can be accessed at the following link:

The vision will be finalized in the coming weeks, and the work to achieve it will continue.  Please continue to check the web site for updates and information.
